Cross Country
Instructor: Coach Geary Howell
The Clinton Cross Country teams are quickly becoming a successful part of the overall Athletic Program at Clinton High School.  With over 50 participants competing in this sport each year, students are given the opportunity to run in races across the country through the United States Track and Field Association Junior Olympics.  As a coaching staff we try to develop and cultivate the "whole person" concept in each student athlete.  This means working on all elements of their person: mental, physical, and social.

Geary Howell is in his third year as the cross country coach at Clinton High School and his teams have won five district championships and finished as high as 3rd in the state.  The Arrow Boys completed the 2008 season with a record of 120-15 and the Arrow Girls finished their season with a record of 75-31.  Coach Howell is married to Lindsey Williams from Vicksburg.
